Date Night

Chad and I recently attended the Sterling Annual Football Banquet. I look forward to this night every year. We get to dress up and I get to watch Chad do his job and interact with the players and their families. Plus there's always free food.
Here's our yearly picture. You get the cropped version. Charlie was rolling around by our feet during the shot. Funny dog.

It was a great night for the coaches and the kids after making it into the playoffs for the first time in 23 years. Chad kept his speech short but he let the kids know that they made him excited about his job again after a couple of (looong)losing seasons.

So, I was thankful for his short speech because I had been eye-balling this gorgeous cake the entire time. I kept wondering when we were going to finally slice into the thing. They waited until the very end, but it was worth it! The quarterback's grandma made it. Impressive!

Tonight we're going out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse. We've decided we'd better squeeze in as many "date nights" as possible during the next 4 months!

p.s. All is well...Kicker is a trooper and the issues appear to be resolved for now. Again. :0)
