Hey! What's Going On In There?

Last night I felt the baby move for the first time! I've had moments where I thought "was that the baby...or just gas?" But, last night it was definitely the baby! We were laying in bed and I was just about to doze off when this roll went across the top of my belly over to my left side. I bolted wide awake and Chad thought there was an emergency of some sort. I felt him move one more time before falling asleep. This morning I was able to linger in bed awhile and, sure enough, I felt Baby Haynes again. This is the coolest thing ever! He isn't consistent enough for Chad to get to feel him yet. He'll sit there with his hand on my belly (ever expanding, by the way) and wait...and wait...and...nothing. Right now it happens when I least expect it. Which I love. It's a cute little reminder that "I'm still here, Mom."

Tomorrow will be 17 weeks. We're almost half way through the pregnancy and still have 50 million things to do and to buy. Next Tuesday will be the big "find out the sex" day. Then we'll know if I can keep calling him "he" or if I need to change my thinking. I did have a very realistic dream that he's a girl which is messing with me a little bit. We'll see soon!
