Catch-up Post 2 of 3

Hello, Fall!
For us fall means football, of course! Chad, the other coaches, and the players have endured the triple-digit heat by rescheduling practices for early in the morning and late in the evening. Texas also has very strict rules which districts much abide by when practicing in the heat. It is always a worry, though. So far, the Jaguars are 1-1. We have one more game, a bye week, then district games begin. Aside from all of the fun and anticipation, football also means we miss Daddy! Graham and I do a lot of bonding during the season: evening walks, picnic dinners on the living room floor, cooking and baking, cleaning house and doing laundry... it's not exactly the same kind of fun he has with Daddy, but he tolerates me.

Fall also means it's my busy time of year at work. I have started my new job as an instructional specialist. I was "assigned" a teacher to work with the first week of school. She loves me. Not really. It's pretty hairy to work with someone at the request of administration...makes building a working relationship pretty difficult. I have two other coaching assignments, a few classrooms where I "push-in" to work with students within the regular classroom, and one small group of students I pull out of the classroom for interventions. The rest of my time will be spent analyzing data from campus assessments, creating blended assessments (Objectives represented in both Spanish and English), and ?? random assignments. I feel like I'm doing important work, but I'm not sure this is where my passion lies...

Graham is back at the Montessori Rainbow School. He fell back into his old routine pretty well. He had a tough time napping the first week, but seems to be doing better with that. He and Daddy ride to work together in the morning and I pick him up in the afternoons. I sure miss being the one to snuggle him when he wakes up from his naps!

We're looking forward to a great fall. Our weather broke TODAY (happy feet! happy feet! happy feet!) and we are supposed to be in the 80's next week. Bring on the chili and the open windows!
