We Survived

Graham and I survived our first daycare day. I took him in at 7:30 since that is the time I'll have to leave him next week. After that, it will be more like 7:00. I had to wake him up this morning. I opened his blinds and turned off the white noise. I undid his little swaddle and he gave me a big stretch and a smile. I started crying right then.

Once we got there, the head lady, Miss Jill, was very sweet. I think she already knew I'd be a mess. I got Graham all set up on the floor under an activity bar. He was excited about new things to look at. I gave him LOTS of kisses and he was full of smiles. I decided that was the time to make my exit. I cried some more before leaving the building. I cried even more in the car driving the whole 50 yards to my school. I cried some more everytime someone asked "How's that baby doing?"

Chad called at 11:00 when I was on my way to pick Graham up. He was already headed over so he could come get him with me. When we walked in Graham was all cozy in the big swing. He had eaten twice in that 3 hours. (I'm going to be in trouble at our next dr. visit!) We weren't able to check in on the web cam because the daycare server was offline. I sent an unpleasant e-mail to the web company. We should be up and running tomorrow.

So, 3 hours. We made it. Tomorrow we'll try for 4 or maybe 5. Graham crashed when we got home. He's used to marathon naps and he only slept 45 min. at daycare. I hope he learns to sleep better during the day there. He fell asleep in the car on the way home and again in my arms. I had to make myself lay him in his crib where I knew he would get better sleep.

We survived.

Oh I am sooo glad Graham did okay. I just haven't been able to call knew we both would end up in tears. Give him some kisses and hugs from us. See you Friday. Thanks for the post.
Love You.

Becky's words of wisdom should help; knowing this should get easier for all of you and will make the picking up part of the day fun. Love Mom

Oh - I almost cried just reading about you dropping off Graham. He will be so spoiled - lol. You know they will give him lots of attention while he is there. I am glad you survived.
