Breech Baby

Graham has been in a breech position for the entire pregnancy. His hard little noggin is right on top of (or under) my right rib cage. After talking to the dr. today, we have a couple more weeks for him to try to flip around, but it is unlikely at this point. If he doesn't turn around doc says we can try to flip him from outside the uterus (no, thank you) or schedule a c-section (yes, please). We will reevaluate and decide at 38 weeks.

I researched the procedure where the doctor flips him: external cephalic version . It sounds unpleasant and like an "extra" procedure that may or may not work. We will just schedule a c-section if it comes to that. I'm really hoping to give labor and normal delivery a go, but we don't care as long as we get him here happy and healthy.

In the meantime, I'm going to try a few of the "natural" techniques for trying to get the baby to flip. Some of them sound reasonable: lying in an inclined position, cat stretch, etc. Others are really wacky and too far out there for me: placing headphones down my pants and playing music, clothespins on my toes, headstands, etc.

We have less than 5 weeks until due date. Less than 4 weeks if we go with the c-section. Seems hard to believe!! We're on weekly dr. visits now so we'll keep you posted.

Good luck with the reasonable efforts to help baby flip....nothing wrong with the c-section delivery if it's needed...love you, Mom
